ACOBAR II: Analysis and publication of results from the Fram Strait tomographic experiment.

The aim of the ACOBAR II is to facilitate for continued collaboration between and Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center (NERSC) and Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO).

Objectives

The primary objective is to publish the scientific results from the Fram Strait tomography experiment, which involves collaboration with Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

Process and analyze travel time data from the ACOBAR experiment in combination with ice-ocean models, oceanographic data from moorings and gliders, and satellite remote sensing data

Process and analyze ambient noise data from ACOBAR experiment in combination oceanographic data from moorings and gliders and satellite remote sensing data

Prepare and submit three joint papers to international referee journal.

Project Summary

The aim of  ACOBAR II is to facilitate for continued collaboration between and Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center (NERSC) and Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO). This will result in a significant transfer of knowledge within acoustic data analysis, and  acoustic inversions  and assimilation of acoustic measurments into ocean models from SIO to NERSC. The collaboration will be implemented through mutual visits at the two institutions of key personnel within acoustics, oceanography, and ocean modelling. The visits are work intensive periods with clearly defined goals of analysis and publications. The expected outcome is analysis and publication of results from the acoustic experiments in the Fram Strait under the ACOBAR project.
