Summer School: “Crash Course on Data Assimilation - Theoretical foundations and advanced applications with focus on ensemble methods”

The Nordic Centre of Excellence Ensemble-based data assimilation for environmental monitoring and prediction - EmblA coordinated by the Nansen Center organises a 4-days summer school for PhD-level students and early stage scientists with beginner or no notions of data assimilation. The Summer School Crash Course on Data Assimilation - Theoretical foundations and advanced applications with focus on ensemble methods will give the participants knowledge on how to apply data assimilation in their research. The crash course will cover the basic notions of data assimilation, focusing on ensemble methods, illustrated with real-scale / operational applications and with the aid of practical exercises.

The research school will take place between 6. to 9. June 2017, at the Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center in Bergen. Application deadline for participation is 15th April 2017, and early applicants will be given priority.
