Nansen Center´s 30 years anniversary seminar, including PRESENTATIONS

On 28th November in 1986 the Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center (NERSC) was registered as a scientific foundation founded by the Research Foundation at the University of Bergen (UNIFOB), GC Rieber and the US oil company Tenneco. The Nansen Center celebrates its 30 years anniversary this week with a two days 30 years Anniversary Seminar on 24. and 25. November at VilVite confernce centre.
Global sea level change will be addressed in a keynote lecture by Prof. Anny Cazenave at Laboratoire d’Etudes en Géophysique et Océanographie Spatiales (LEGOS) in France. Three of the core research areas of the Nansen Center will be presented during the seminar i.e. within (i) Climate research and prediction, (ii) Ocean modelling and forecasting and (iii) Observation-based ocean and sea ice research. The topics for each session will be introduced by an external invited speaker, respectively Prof. Tore Furevik, Bjerknes Centre/SKD, Dr. Pierre-Yves Le Traon, Mercator-Ocean, France and Dr. Glenn Nolan, EuroGOOS Office, Belgium. Scientists at the Nansen Center will give thematically presentations under each session addressing key research questions under invetsigation at the Center.
