Dr. Ben Marzeion receives the IUGG Early Career Scientist Award

Dr. Ben Marzeion has been awarded the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) Early Career Scientist Award for his early career research in climatology.

Dr. Mazeion started his PhD studies at the Nansen Centre in 2003 and defended his PhD. Degree at the Geophysical Institute, University of Bergen on The Influence of Vertical Mixing on the Stability of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation in 2006. For two years he was a Post-doc at the Nansen Centre and the Bjerknes Centre. After a short Post-doc visit to Massachusetts Institute of Technology he was employed at University of Innsbruck, Austria, where he now is Associate Professor at the institute of Meteorology and Geophysics.

IUGG Early Career Scientist Awards will be presented at the 26th IUGG General Assembly in Prague, Czech Republic, 22 June – 2 July 2015 during an Honors ceremony. The awardees will give a talk at the U11 Early Career Scientists Symposium on Saturday, 27 June 2015.
