The Mohn-Sverdrup Center for Global Ocean Studies and Operational Oceanography
is a department of the Nansen Environmental and Remote-Sensing Center.


Research Interests:

Sequential data assimilation in ocean models (EnKF and other advanced filters).
Ocean modeling (esp. with HYCOM).
Geostatistics for environmental data.


Recent Projects:

Running
The eVITA-EnKF multidisciplinary project (funded by the Research Council of Norway, 2007-2012), Vice-coordinator together with Geir Evensen.
The MyOcean integrated project from the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme (2009-2012), leader of WP5, the Arctic Monitoring and Forecasting Center.
WIFAR (Wave in Ice Foracsting for Arctic OpeRators) (funded by the Research Council of Norway, 2010-2013, co-funding by TOTAL E&P), Vice-coordinator together with Stein Sandven.

The BOSS4GMES integrated project from the European Commission's 6th Framework Programme (2007-2009)
PRECOC a project from the Franco-Norwegian Foundation (2006-2009, Coordinator)
