Research Director and Leader of Air-Sea Interaction Group at NIERSC, St. Petersburg. He is also Professor at the Russian State Hydrometeorological University in St. Petersburg. His area of research activity includes air-sea interaction at high wind conditions, wind waves, radar and optical imaging of ocean phenomena (surface currents, fronts, waves, oil spills), small-scale wind waves and exchange processes at the sea surface, wind driven currents and turbulence in the upper ocean.
