The Nansen Center at the ESA Living Planet symposium in Bergen

ESA’s week-long Living Planet Symposium in Bergen have gathered more than 1200 scientists from around the world. Scientists and the agency share the state-of-the art knowledge within satellite Earth observations technology and applications.

The Nansen Center is heavily involved in the Symposium being hosted here in Bergen. Vice-director Johnny A. Johannessen gave an overview of 20 years of ERS and Envisat achievements during the plenary opening on of the Symposium. Scientist from the Nansen Center in Bergen and St. Petersburg delivers totally 15 presentations and 15 poster presentations during the symposium. Scientists from the Nansen Center also chairs five thematic sessions.

The Nansen Center is also sharing exhibition in the “Norwegian Corner” in the Grieghallen together with Norwegian Space Centre and Kongberg Satellite Services (KSAT).
