GC Rieber Climate Institute
The key activities in the GC Rieber Climate Institute are numerical simulation of the past, present and possible future climate system.
The numerical simulations are basically global in scope, but the main emphasis is put on the dynamics, thermodynamics and biogeochemistry of the Atlantic Ocean, the Nordic Seas and the Arctic Ocean. The institute is actively involved in the Research Center of Excellence Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research (BCCR) and the Centre for Climate Dynamics (SKD) in Bergen, and has also near collaboration with the major climate modelling research groups in Europe.

CarboChange
-
CARBOCHANGE will provide the best possible process-based quantification of net ocean carbon uptake under changing climate conditions using past and present ocean carbon cycle changes for a better prediction of future ocean carbon uptake.
